About Rachel Interiano

My name is Rachel Interiano and I am a registered nurse teaching the Marquette Method of Natural Family Planning.  I graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and  I have spent the majority of my career in the operating room; most recently focused in pediatric surgery.

As a newer nurse working in the ICU, I had a 20 year old patient who suffered a stroke and died. The only red flag in her medical history was that she took birth control pills.  Ever since that experience, many years ago, I have felt strongly and learned through research that artificial hormones are not healthy and I enthusiastically embrace the cultural movement away from these methods.

I’m not your typical Catholic NFP teacher; I am a fairly recent Catholic “revert” and so did not use natural family planning until a couple of years ago. I was baptized when I was 4 but went away from the faith at the age of 13 for a couple of decades. I understand both the secular and religious side of planning a family. I have taken the birth control pill, used an IUD and barrier methods and so I know what that is like. However, deciding to live my faith 100%, I was faced with determining which method to use. I settled on a temperature method for a while but then after intentionally having my last baby, I wanted a method I could use while breastfeeding. That is how I found Marquette and after learning it, I thought “Wow! Why don’t more people know about this?” I had never heard of it! My husband suggested I look up what it takes to teach it and I discovered that a Marquette teacher needs to be a healthcare professional. This was a clear sign to me to change my career focus and lead others while they learn this method.

So… after discovering the Marquette Method, I decided to take my career in a different direction! I went back to school at Marquette University and learned how to teach this wonderful method! My practice, Uniquely Mary NFP, assists women to learn the Marquette Method and use it to intelligently plan their families and understand their fertility. Realizing that the menstrual cycle is a vital sign for women’s health, my clients are learning to cooperate with their fertility rather than suppress it.

I am passionate about sexual issues and want to help couples live their best life sexually, while respecting the dignity of the body. I have even given talks to teen high school students about sexuality and natural family planning!

In my spare time I enjoy my faith life, being at home with my family, date nights with my husband, family outings with the children, traveling, watching movies, reading, being outdoors and spending time in our garden. I am blessed to be here and to help the clients I have been privileged to follow. Please ask me any questions you might have and let’s get started on your fertility journey with Marquette!
